FUN FACTS ABOUT OUR EASTER BEST:
300 AD: The Roman Emperor, Constantine made wearing new clothes on Easter an official decree by declaring this his court must wear their finest. It was the mark the end of Lent after weeks of wearing the same drab clothing. 

16th Century: During the Tudor reign, it was believed that if one did not wear something new at Easter. moths would eat the old ones and evil crows would nest near the home!

Post Civil War: Easter was not celebrated in America until after the war.  After, Easter was known as Sunday of Joy and women changed their dark colors of mourning for brighter colors of spring. 

1870s in NYC: The tradition of the Easter Parade began. Women would wear their newest and most fashionable frocks and walk along Fifth Avenue for everyone to see. Poorer classes would stand along the streets to find the latest trends. We could call it the earliest beginning of NY FASHION WEEK!

Note to Self: Must wear something new so moths and crows don't nest nearby....and make sure to walk along 5th Ave!!! GOT IT!
