SCHOOL OF STYLE
This back to school post is dedicated to all the teachers and education workers out there including school social workers, psychologists, secretaries, nurses and administration! A large number of my friends work in this field and I want to let them all know that I admire them for what they do. Even my sister is getting in on the action and will be starting grad school next year to earn her master's in Elementary Education. I am so proud of her. She takes after me in the style department, so I know she will appreciate this post! :)
This post is CARDIGAN FREE. Not that I have anything against cardigans, but there is so much more out there for you ladies to wear!!!
I would also like to take a moment to reminisce about my 10th and 11th grade English teacher, Mrs. Brooks. She NEVER wore the same outfit twice. I don't even think she wore pants! I remember her as a petite little woman who only wore skirts, dresses and PLATFORM shoes. With all those outfits to choose from, I can only imagine just how big her closet must have been....
On one last note, there are just a few days left before the school year begins around here. I want to wish the best of luck to all of my education friends out there. That excited feeling that we all used to get when wearing new clothes on our first day each school year never went away, so go treat yourself to a new outfit to greet your new students in on their first day back. Make sure to let your style shine...but let your students shine even BRIGHTER! <3
SKIRT COMBOS
Checkered Midi Skirt
This may be my favorite combo of all! I love mixing prints and patterns!
So many ways to wear bold and floral skirts. Try pairing it with a white tailored shirt or mix and match patterns by wearing it with a black and white striped tee like this one here.
You can never go wrong with a pencil skirt. With this busy pattern, you want to keep your top or blouse simple. The J.Crew Tippi sweater in black would be a perfect match!
Rock the half tuck with this black blouse and the checkered pants below. Such a comfortable look to sport while running around your classroom all day. If it does come to that, I hope its the little ones that you are teaching and not teenagers. :)
